Quotes:
"Revealing, sensitive, and yes, funny, WET DREAMS AND FALSE IMAGES is a wonderful deconstruction of the construction of desire. I strongly recommend it as a teaching tool for academic as well as community environments."
–Stephen Duncombe, Professor of Media and Cultural Studies
New York University

"Epstein's quirky, quietly radical film shows consciousnesses being raised right on camera, as Dee Dee learns that "my man had a lot of wet dreams, to a lot of false images". A riveting examination of how retouching has enforced an utterly unrealizable standard of female beauty, even at street level."
Kate Stables
THE GUARDIAN NEWSPAPER

3 Stars
Randy Pitman, Publisher/Editor
Video Librarian

"Addressing the illusion of perfect bodies and flawless faces is necessary. Eating disorders, unnecessary surgeries, and mental distress, are all part of the "looks above all" society"
Stewart Landers, JD, MCP
Associate Editor, American Journal of Public Health

Student Review:

"I know that I have struggled immensely with body image issues that arose out of internal struggles but have only been escalated by figures in the media. Yet, if there is education that figures in magazines are not real, maybe another nine-year-old girl will be spared years of shame and embarrassment for not resembling the perfected bodies in magazines. I really admire Jesse Epstein for committing her work to bringing to front a prominent cultural issue."
